Ballantyne's Cove

Welcome to beautiful Cape George, Nova Scotia!  Our cottage overlooks the picturesque harbour and wharf at Ballantynes Cove  From early May until October the wharf hums with activity.  Both fisherpeople and pleasure craft moor their boats here.  Sailboats can be seen coming and going throughout the summer months.  The water is very swimable, unlike the colder water of the Bay of Fundy. There is a public beach at the Cove and many nice beaches all within a one hour drive from the cottage.  Hiking trails abound, some originating at the Tuna Interpretive Centre at the wharf and others at the Cape George Heritage Museum
From Ballantyne's Cove it is a short trip to Antigonish, the home of St. Francis Xavier University and approximately an hour's drive to the Casnso Causeway that connects maineland Nova Scotia to Cape Breton.
